The best of the few guide-books on Leningrad ever printed in interwar period. Withdrawn from circulation shortly after I. F. Kodatskii´s execution. Photographs of the USSR leaders are reproduced from Soiuzfoto Bureau files. Other photographers are L. Andreevskii and S. Bamuner. Valuable data on Leningrad industry and social history.

Among contributors: Party historian A. Iazve (article on S.M.Kirov), architect professor O.A.Konstantinov, historian M. Lur´e, writer David Dar and others.
According to some collectors and historians of Leningrad the map of Leningrad, supposetly to be inserted in the book, never saw the light of the day. Some book collectors claim that the map was withdrawn from part of the run during spymania campaign shortly after S. M. Kirov assassination. Others claim it was sold separately. We were not able to confirm this statement from independent printed source or RNL´s SBB.
