Aleksei Aleksandrovich Surkov was a Soviet poet and Union of Writers functionary. His first sixty and two pages collection of poems was published in 1930, although his first poem appeared in literary magazine as early as 1918.

The book was sold out within a record short time and a new 'supplemented' edition followed next year. A number of poems from this book were not included in his four volume 'Collected Works', some poems were re - written in order to follow party´s 'red line' in literature, number of dedications omited.

OCLC lists only two copies for this edition, both in the USA.
