8 vo, publishers binding with embossed text in gold 'Tsena 1 dol.' and very attractive decorative logo of R.F.K.P.A. publishing house with Lenin´s (?) portrait in a miniature. Insignificant wear of time to binding, some pencil marks through the text. Very good.

First American edition in Russian.

Very rare already in 1950s.The binding was issued in two versions. One in green color without embossed sign 'Tsena 1 dol.' (more common) and one with a sign.
1000 copies printed, in all probability. The book was a remainder at Maisel´ New York shop till late 1930s.Ca. 500 copies were left unpacked.

Remaining copies were bought by the very first attempted assassin on Lenin´s life and a New York based bookseller Nicholas N.Martianoff in late 1940s. Martianoff sent almost all the remaining copies '[...] straight to NYC´s damp furnace. With my greatest pleasure', in his own words.

Cataloger bought directly from Nicholas Martianoff remaining five copies of the book . Two copies were sold to the USSR in 1980s, one to American collector, one to a Japanese book lover. This is the last, fifth copy, of an important early Comintern publication.
