First edition of the first Domino Press book, and a landmark book in the history of children´s book illustrations. Edited by Esther Averill and Lila Stanley. Domino Press was a short lived press. Rozhankovskii invested some of his own money in this venture. It was a commercial failure and ended with author´s greater debt to printers.

Fedor Rozhankovskii provided pictures for more than 100 children's books during his career. He received the Caldecott Medal from the American Library Association in 1956. Daniel Boone helped the international career of Rojankovsky as an illustrator. Text printed by Coulouma, lithographs by Mourlot. Not in Cotsen.
