Kniga o vkusnoi i zdorovoi pishche [A Book of Tasty and Healthy Food] is a Russian Stalin-Era standard cookbook.The book was printed for the first time in 1939 and editions from 1947, 1952, 1953,1954,1955, 1961 and 1963 followed. Photographers for this edition are Dmitrii N. Baltermants [famous WWII photographer] and Zh.K.Martov. Krhrushchev-era editions differ from all previous editions published in Stalin-era. The preface and notes are doctored, censored and many passages in new preface are re-written. In many cases color photographic plates were changed. Our copy is a more rare Second run of the book, with additional corrigenda. The total amount of copies printed (1st and 2d runs) totals to 900 000 copies, most copies of this particular edition were read into pieces.
